28th May -Preparations to begin I-Radio services are now in progress. In a meeting held last year by the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), it was decided that I-Radio services would begin in the Maldives in December of 2009. Yesterday, an expert from CEMCA gave a demonstration to the Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Lutfi and some other senior officials of the Ministry on how the I-Radio works. It has also been arranged for a technical team from CEMCA to come to Maldives in June to complete the necessary procedures. Read more
28th May -A three member delegation from the International Islamic University Chittagong in Bangladesh would be visiting Maldives in the third week of June to select the participants for the courses. This opportunity is the work of a Maldivian who is studying in Bangladesh. Read more
26th May -A Life-Skills session was conducted yesterday for the Heads of the schools in the Male’ zone. The sessions were organized by the Educational Development Centre under the Staff Development Programme.
The session which continued for two hours highlighted on facing and solving a number of personal, social and health education issues. The discussion also included the responsibilities of teachers who teach in the schools. Read more
21th May -Phase one in developing the education sector strategic plan has started at the seminar room of ESQIS this morning. The aim of preparing this strategic plan is to outline the strategies and actions which need to be carried out in order to achieve the targets set for the next five years by the new administration.
Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Lutfi inaugurated this meeting. In his welcome speech, the Minister spoke about the importance of including everyone’s ideas when preparing a plan of this type. Read more
