Information given to parents about the public private partnership of Ghiyasuddin School

Information regarding the public private partnership of Ghiyasuddin School was given to parents of grades 5, 6, and 7 of the school last night.
At a meeting held in the school last night, Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Lutfi spoke about the objectives of privatizing some schools. The Minister said that the main reason for giving away some schools to be run under a public private partnership is to give better facilities and create a wider range of opportunities which the students do not have at present, thus building better youth and citizens.
A power point presentation was shown, giving information about public private partnership. After this presentation parents were invited to ask any questions which they may have. The questions were answered in detail by the Ministry’s team. Some of the questions posed by the parents were what would happen to the students who are presently studying in the school, and if the parents request would theses students be given a chance to join another government school and how much monitoring will be conducted from the Ministry after the school is taken over by another party.
In answering the questions, Minister said that fee for the students who are presently enrolled in the school would be borne by the Ministry totally till they complete the highest grade which is conducted in the school now, if they cannot afford it themselves. As the school would be given under a contract, the Ministry of Education assures that constant monitoring of the school will be conducted. The Minister further assured that none of the teachers who are presently employed at Ghiyasuddin School would lose their jobs.
