Hiriya School begins teaching





Teaching began this morning at Hiriya School. A special assembly was held at the school compound this morning to mark this special occasion. Minister, Deputy Ministers, senior officials of the Ministry of Education, heads of some schools and some parents attended this assembly.
Minister of education Dr. Mustafa Lutfi addressed the assembly. In his speech, the Minister said that he hoped that the school would become a model school in which the students would get the best education which is possible in Maldives at present and noted that Hiriya School is the only single-session government school in Male’.
The Principal of the school Mr. Ali Nazim also spoke at the assembly. Mr. Nazim assured the Minister that he, along with the assistance from his senior management team at Hiriya would work to fulfill the wishes and vision of the Ministry of Education. He also urged the teachers at Hiriya to use the modern day technology which is available in the school to make the lessons better and interesting for the students.
A prayer was recited in which all who were present at the assembly participated.
The school at its first day of schooling has over 500 students. Hiriya School has all the modern facilities which are used to provide the students with the modern day education.
