A news conference was held this afternoon at Fansavees of Dharubaaruge, to give information about the work that was done this past fortnight in the education sector. Deputy Ministers Mrs. Shifa Mohamed, Dr. Abdullah Nazeer and Director General Mr. Ahmed Shafeeu addressed the media and answered their questions.

The main topics on which information was given are the pre-school teacher training courses which are now being conducted in the Upper North and South Province and the courses which began in the South Province on the 16th of this month and which are conducted by Kulliyyaa, Information was also given in detail about the progress of the School boards which are being established in all the schools and also about the progress of MIVET. Media was also given detailed information on the National Curriculum review which is planned to be held as soon as the paper work and preparations are fully done.

In addressing the media, Mrs. Shifa said that the main aim of the work conducted in the Ministry is for the students’ education and whatever can be done for their betterment will be done by the Ministry of Education.
