The Education / UNICEF 2010 Annual Work Plan has been signed at a ceremony held on 3rd February 2010 at the Ministry of Education.

The Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Lutfi, some senior officials from the Education Sector and a delegation from the UNICEF Maldives, including the UNICEF Representative in the Maldives, Mr. Mansoor Ali participated in the ceremony.

The main areas of collaboration in the Work Plan include Capacity Building for Pre and Primary Schools, Special needs, Development of the National Curriculum Framework, Environmental Education, and Water and Sanitation in Schools.

The Minister thanked the continuous assistance of UNICEF in education. He expressed that it was an important day in the history by signing the Annual Work Plan. He also said that UNICEF is a regular partner of the ministry by giving a lot of support, and that he is happy to have UNICEF as a partner this year too.
