More than 300 teachers graduated from the Maldives National University and received their certificates at the graduation ceremony held last night.
This ceremony was held at Dharubaaruge, and certificates were awarded by Chief Guest, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, MNU Chancellor and other senior officials of MNU.
Education Minister Dr Aishath Shiham, who was also present at the ceremony, handed over the certificates to the graduates from the education sector.
During the tonight’s ceremony certificates given away to the 648 students who graduated from various courses. Amongst the students who graduated include the 302 students who graduated from faculty of teaching and 7 students of faculty of Islamic studies.
Speaking at tonight’s ceremony Minister Thoriq Ibrahim said that, it is time we change our perception that certain jobs are not appropriate. “Maldivians should be in the frontline in the development of the nation, hence we should be willing to perform any type of jobs”, he said.
Moreover, he also said to make the most of the knowledge acquired, and he urged the graduates to serve the nation with utmost sincerity
